How to decide
- A website: WordPress if you want a ready blog or site. LEMP or LAMP if you write the PHP yourself.
- A Node.js or Python project: the matching runtime, or Docker if you deploy containers.
- Several apps on one server: Docker with Portainer, or Coolify.
- Not sure: order a plain server. You can always install software yourself later, and RAM sizing is covered in how much RAM a VPS needs.
Apps that run in Docker (Nginx Proxy Manager, Portainer, Gitea, n8n, Uptime Kuma, WireGuard) have Docker installed first, so they take a little longer than a plain Docker install.
