Order Ubuntu Desktop from the Marketplace App tab as shown in how to order a VPS with a one-click app. When the install card on your server page shows the finished result, follow the steps below.
What you get
A light XFCE desktop on Ubuntu, reachable over Remote Desktop (RDP). It is set up on Ubuntu only, needs at least 2 GB of memory, and takes 6 to 12 minutes.
1. Get the login
Press Show app login on the server page. It shows the connection address, the username azuser, a generated password and port 3389.
2. Connect from Windows
- Open Remote Desktop Connection.
- Enter your server's IP address.
- Sign in with the username and password from the server page.
On Mac, use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app. On Linux, use a client such as Remmina.
Notes
- A desktop uses much more memory than a plain server, so a plan with 4 GB or more will feel smoother.
- Keep the password safe.
