About Fedora

Fedora on AtoZNode

Fedora is a fast-moving Linux system with very recent software, backed by the Red Hat community. Developers like it because new versions of languages, compilers and tools arrive early.

Available: Fedora Cloud 43, 42 and 41. Older releases (40 to 38) are also in the list, but they are no longer supported, so use them only to match an old project.

What you get

Why run Fedora here

Very recent versions of programming languages and tools.

The same tooling as the Red Hat family (dnf, SELinux, firewalld), so skills carry over.

A cloud image made for servers, without a desktop.

Good for development, testing and trying new software before it reaches stable systems.

Good to know

Each Fedora release is supported for only about a year, so you upgrade often. For a server that should stay unchanged for years, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Debian or an Ubuntu LTS release is a better base.

FAQ

Fedora VPS: your questions answered

Is Fedora good for production?

It can be, if you are willing to upgrade to a new release about once a year. For a long-lived production server, a long-term-support system is usually the safer choice.

What package manager does Fedora use?

dnf. For example, "sudo dnf upgrade" installs updates.

How is Fedora different from AlmaLinux?

Fedora moves fast and has new software; AlmaLinux moves slowly and stays stable for years.

Which payment methods can I use?

Every price is in Indian rupees. You can pay by UPI, card or net banking, and you get an invoice for each payment, with GST shown where it applies.

Do I get root access?

Yes. Every AtoZNode Cloud VPS is a KVM virtual server with full root access, so you can install any software you need.
