Managed SQLite, looked after for you
SQLite is a database in a single file. It is simple and reliable for many apps, but copying the file while it is in use can give a broken backup, so backups need the right method.
SQLite: what we look after
- Backups with the SQLite backup command, not a plain file copy
- WAL mode and busy timeout settings checked
- File permissions and disk space watched
- Restore tests on a copy
When SQLite goes wrong
- A corrupt backup made by copying the file while it was written
- Database locked errors under load
- A file that grows until the disk is full
Who uses managed SQLite
Small apps, internal tools and sites that use an embedded database.
What it needs
Fast local disk and regular backups. It needs no server process.
What we check first
Before we change anything on a new SQLite setup, we look at these, and we tell you what we found in plain words:
- How backups are taken, since copying the file while it is in use can give a broken copy
- Whether write-ahead logging is on and how the app handles waiting for locks
- The size of the file and the free disk space
From order to a watched SQLite setup
SQLite is part of every managed plan. Besides what is listed above, each plan includes outside checks every minute, off-server backups, security hardening and a team that answers your tickets. The price counts servers, not apps.
Tell us what you run
Order a managed plan and list your servers and the apps on them, or write to us first with questions.
We look before we touch
We check what is installed, what is out of date and what is not backed up, and tell you in plain words.
Backups and watching first
Backups and outside checks are set up before any change, so we can always go back.
Then the steady work
Updates, security, tuning and fixes follow, and you can ask us anything by ticket.
Plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server. GST is added at checkout. See all managed plans.
SQLite support: your questions answered
Is SQLite good enough for production?
For many small and medium sites yes. We tell you when your traffic suggests a server database.
Can you move from SQLite to MySQL or PostgreSQL?
Yes. We plan the move, test it on a copy and switch with a short pause.
Is SQLite covered by the managed plans?
Yes. The managed plans count servers, not applications, so SQLite on your server is covered with no extra price per app. Plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server, and GST is added at checkout.
