Managed PostgreSQL, looked after for you
PostgreSQL is trusted for serious data, and it deserves proper backups, regular maintenance and sensible settings. We set these up and check them every day.
PostgreSQL: what we look after
- postgresql.conf and connection pooling matched to your workload
- Base backups with write-ahead log archiving, for point-in-time recovery
- Vacuum and index health checks
- Major version upgrades tested on a copy
When PostgreSQL goes wrong
- A table so bloated that queries crawl
- Connections used up by an app without pooling
- No way back to a moment before a bad change
Who uses managed PostgreSQL
Applications that need a strict, reliable database with strong backup options.
What it needs
Enough RAM for shared buffers and the working set, fast disks, and storage for write-ahead logs and backups.
What we check first
Before we change anything on a new PostgreSQL setup, we look at these, and we tell you what we found in plain words:
- Version and its support dates
- Backup and log archiving state
- Bloat and vacuum health
- Connection counts and pooling
From order to a watched PostgreSQL setup
PostgreSQL is part of every managed plan. Besides what is listed above, each plan includes outside checks every minute, off-server backups, security hardening and a team that answers your tickets. The price counts servers, not apps.
Tell us what you run
Order a managed plan and list your servers and the apps on them, or write to us first with questions.
We look before we touch
We check what is installed, what is out of date and what is not backed up, and tell you in plain words.
Backups and watching first
Backups and outside checks are set up before any change, so we can always go back.
Then the steady work
Updates, security, tuning and fixes follow, and you can ask us anything by ticket.
Plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server. GST is added at checkout. See all managed plans.
PostgreSQL support: your questions answered
What is point-in-time recovery?
It lets us restore the database to a chosen moment, for example just before someone deleted data. It needs continuous log archiving, which we set up.
Do you run PostgreSQL on a separate server?
Yes. A database server counts as a server in your plan, and we look after it the same way.
Is PostgreSQL covered by the managed plans?
Yes. The managed plans count servers, not applications, so PostgreSQL on your server is covered with no extra price per app. Plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server, and GST is added at checkout.
