Managed databases and caches, fast and safely backed up
Most slow apps are slow because of the database, and most disasters are a database with no good backup. We tune, watch and protect yours.
Databases and caches: what we look after
- MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis installed and configured for the size of the server
- Slow-query review and index suggestions for your developers
- Backups taken regularly, copied off the server and restored on a copy to prove they work
- Disk, memory and connection-count monitoring with early alerts
- Version upgrades planned and tested before the live change
- Access limited to the machines that need it
When it goes wrong
- A site that crawls when many visitors arrive at once
- A database that fills the disk and then stops everything
- "Too many connections" errors
- A corrupted table after a crash
- A backup that exists but cannot be restored
Who uses managed Databases and caches
Anyone whose website or app depends on MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Redis and who has never tested a restore.
What it needs
Enough RAM for the working set, fast disks, and a separate backup location. A database on its own server is usually better once the app is busy.
What we check first
Before we change anything on a new Databases and caches setup, we look at these, and we tell you what we found in plain words:
- Memory and connection settings against the real load
- Backup schedule, location and the date of the last successful restore
- Slow queries and missing indexes
- Who can connect from where
Part of every managed plan
Databases and caches is covered by the same managed plans as the server it runs on. The price counts servers, not apps.
Watching
The app is checked from outside every minute, not only the server. If the page stops answering or turns slow, we see it before your customers write to you.
Updates
Core, plugins, packages and runtime versions are updated on a schedule, with a backup taken first and a way back if something breaks.
Backups
Files and databases are copied off the server, and a restore is tested, because a backup you have never restored is only a hope.
Security
Hardening, malware scans, firewall rules and certificate renewals are handled for you, and anything suspicious is looked at the same day.
Speed
Caching, database tuning and memory limits are set for how your app is really used, not left at install defaults.
Fixes
Errors, white screens, full disks, failed deploys and broken mail are fixed by a person who opens a ticket thread with you, not a bot.
Plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server. GST is added at checkout. See all managed plans.
Databases and caches support: your questions answered
Do you manage a database on a separate server?
Yes. A database server counts as a server in your plan, and we look after it the same way as an app server.
Can you set up replication?
Simple primary and replica setups can be planned for the Pro and Enterprise plans. Ask first and we confirm what suits your size.
Will you tell my developer what is slow?
Yes. We send the slow queries and the reason in plain words, so your developer can change the code or the index.
