Outline is a fast, modern team wiki. It needs a sign-in provider, file storage, a database and a cache, and it does not run without them.

Before we change anything on a new Outline setup, we look at these, and we tell you what we found in plain words:
- Which sign-in provider is used and whether it works for every user
- Where files are stored and whether that storage is backed up
- The date of the last PostgreSQL and Redis checks

Outline support: your questions answered
Does Outline have its own passwords?
No. It uses sign-in providers, so we set up one that your team already uses.
Can you use your own storage?
Yes. Outline can use S3-compatible storage, including our own S3 service.
Is Outline covered by the managed plans?
Yes. The managed plans count servers, not applications, so Outline on your server is covered with no extra price per app. Plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server, and GST is added at checkout.
