Managed Varnish, looked after for you
Varnish caches pages in memory in front of your web server and can serve thousands of visitors from one copy. A wrong rule can serve the wrong page, so careful rules matter.
Varnish: what we look after
- Varnish installed in front of Nginx or Apache, with HTTPS handled before it
- VCL rules for what to cache and what to skip
- Purge and ban rules your app can call
- Hit rate and memory monitoring
When Varnish goes wrong
- Logged-in users who see cached pages from others
- A cache that never helps because cookies stop it
- Stale pages after content changes
Who uses managed Varnish
High-traffic sites that want pages served from memory.
What it needs
RAM for the cache, Nginx or HAProxy for HTTPS, and a backend web server.
What we check first
Before we change anything on a new Varnish setup, we look at these, and we tell you what we found in plain words:
- How cookies are treated, so logged-in users never see another person's page
- How content is purged when it changes
- The cache hit rate and the memory it uses
From order to a watched Varnish setup
Varnish is part of every managed plan. Besides what is listed above, each plan includes outside checks every minute, off-server backups, security hardening and a team that answers your tickets. The price counts servers, not apps.
Tell us what you run
Order a managed plan and list your servers and the apps on them, or write to us first with questions.
We look before we touch
We check what is installed, what is out of date and what is not backed up, and tell you in plain words.
Backups and watching first
Backups and outside checks are set up before any change, so we can always go back.
Then the steady work
Updates, security, tuning and fixes follow, and you can ask us anything by ticket.
Plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server. GST is added at checkout. See all managed plans.
Varnish support: your questions answered
Will Varnish work with WordPress or Magento?
Yes, with rules that fit each of them. Magento has built-in support, and WordPress needs a plugin for purges.
Does Varnish handle HTTPS?
Not by itself. We put Nginx or HAProxy in front for HTTPS and send traffic on to Varnish.
Is Varnish covered by the managed plans?
Yes. The managed plans count servers, not applications, so Varnish on your server is covered with no extra price per app. Plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server, and GST is added at checkout.
